A Visit To The Medieval Church At Puxton, Somerset

Yesterday I went are a very gentle cycle ride to Puxton ,a little village 5 miles out of WSM.This area  is a place where there are natural wildlife, protected areas for species of bird, flowers, plants and other creatures---all part of the Somerset levels with its peaty boggy marshlands steeped in histroy. I visited the church of 'The Holy Saviour' protected itself  by the charity 'The churches Conservation Trust'--a very medieval church hardly touched  by human hands  throughout the centuries--very puritannical with its own leaning tower due to the peaty marsh. In 1607 this area experienced a huge tidal surge described by some as a Tsunami---and geologists reckon we are due for another. I will need to visit again to do a better video --the present one was on the wrong setting so is a bit jumpy. However, the photos will reflect some of the features of the church. Visiting Somerset churches is a project I started as a child when at the age of about 10 years myself and friends would cycle around the Somerset Levels visiting churches and putting our names in the Vistors Book---so in the books back in the 60s will be found my child handwriting ---so here I am restarting this project.
