Cawsand & Rame Head And Mt Edgecumbe Park Visit, Part XIII, ' Fake Ruin ...
Royal Marine Large landing Craft Utilities vessels----- RM of the Assault Squadrons train here in landing craft exercises. These large vessels that I observed today are capable of carrying a Challenger 2 Tank and 5 RM Viking armour vehicles---I spotted 3 vessels today probably training---later in the day I saw one anchoured at Cawsand Bay.These RM Squadrins are permanently assigned to HMS Ocean, Bulwark and Albion. I had a brilliant day exploring Mount Edgcumbe Park and enjoyed seeing the Navy on display---reminds me of 1968-70 while living in the Plymouth area--in those days the Plymouth Sound was packed with naval vessels from around the World--huge Aircraft Carriers like HMS Eagle and the Ark Royal---I think those days are over as I saw German ships on patrol---weird
